The Reading section of the TOEFL exam is designed to assess your ability to understand and analyze academic texts. You will encounter two reading passages, each around 700 words, followed by 10 questions per passage. These passages are adapted from university-level textbooks and cover various disciplines. The questions test skills such as identifying key ideas, making inferences, and understanding vocabulary in context. This section takes approximately 35 minutes to complete and includes a total of 20 questions.
The Listening section evaluates how well you understand conversations and lectures in English. This section consists of 3 lectures (each 3–5 minutes long) with 6 questions each, and 2 conversations (around 3 minutes long) with 5 questions each. You'll hear academic discussions, student-professor interactions, and classroom dialogues. You are allowed to take notes while listening, which can help you answer the 28 questions more accurately. The total time for this section is approximately 36 minutes.
The Speaking section tests your ability to express ideas clearly and coherently in spoken English. It includes 4 tasks: 1 independent task, where you give your opinion on a familiar topic, and 3 integrated tasks, which combine reading, listening, and speaking. You are given 15 to 30 seconds to prepare and 45 to 60 seconds to speak for each response. Scoring is based on delivery, language use, and topic development. This section takes about 16 minutes to complete.
In the Writing section, candidates must complete two writing tasks. The first is an Integrated task, where you read a passage, listen to a related lecture, and then write a response connecting the two (20 minutes). The second is a Writing for an Academic Discussion task, where you contribute to an online classroom discussion by stating and supporting an opinion (10 minutes). These essays are evaluated on organization, grammar, vocabulary, and coherence. The entire section lasts about 30 minutes.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
